WhatsApp and Gmail Boast Of 1 Billion Active Users Monthly

Two internet giant companies, Facebook and Google, has announced that each one of their service has reached the 1 billion monthly active users mark.
Gmail which is owned by Google, has been in
existence for a few years now. Sometime in may
2014, the Gmail android app hit the one billion
install mark on
play-store after been announced as
the most popular email service.
2 days ago being February 1st, 2016, Google
announced that Gmail now has 1 billion monthly
active users and this was announced via Twitter
accompanied by a video portraying the new
milestone.
Thanks a billion for helping us make Gmail better
and better!

Interestingly, Facebook also announced that
WhatsApp has joined the 1 billion active monthly
users club. Unlike Gmail, WhatsApp reached the 1
billion install mark on the play store in March last
year.
WhatsApp over the years, has grown to become one
of the most widely used messaging service as the
company announced 900 million monthly active users
in September last year. While the messaging service
went completely free a few weeks back , it has
attained the milestone of 1 billion monthly active
users.
Big ups to WhatsApp and Gmail. And oh, in related
news, Apple isn’t the most valued company anymore
(at least for now). Google’s Parent Company,
Alphabet is currently the most valued company in the
world now.
